Set the affinity of a process to allocate it to one or more CPUs - for a process taking too much cpu.

Obviously, you need to know something about the process concerned.

This is more a temporary measure to determine issues with a process.

I would not recommend leaving the setting - only to get some CPU sanity on a server for a limited time.
